Virgil Steve Lanham, born on June 10, 1960, in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in the same city on March 29, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy marked by hard work, passion for life, and the warmth he shared with family and friends.
Steve dedicated his career to being a truck driver, a role that not only required skill and resilience but also offered him the opportunity to traverse the roads he loved so dearly. Beyond his profession, he was known for his enthusiasm for dirt track racing, spending time outdoors, riding his motorcycle, and tending to his lawn. However, his most cherished moments were those spent with his family and friends, where laughter and love flourished.
He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 204, where he reflected his deep sense of community and respect for the sacrifices of others.
Steve is survived by his sons, Steven Henry Lanham and Michael Joe Lanham; granddaughter, Kaydence Lanham; sister, Vickie Lanham; significant other, Tina Hoffmeister; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who will remember him for his kindness and generosity.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Collins and Mary Aline Lanham, as well as his brothers, Phillip Leo Lanham and Ralph Wayne Lanham.
