Mrs. Vionna Bennett Curts passed away September 11, 2022 at Hosparus Health of Louisville.
Mrs. Curts is preceded in death by her only child, Douglas Curts, by just six days (September 5, 2022). She is also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Dudley Curts who passed away in 1997 after being married for over 40 years.

Left to cherish her memory is her loving Granddaughter & caretaker, Amanda Smith, Amanda's husband, Tyler, and their son, Hunter Smith. Mrs. Curts will also be sorely missed her daughter-in-law of 42 years, Connie.

Vionna was born to the late Chester & Violet Bennett. She was an only child and this showed through in her fierce independence. From living alone, after losing her husband, to managing rental properties into her 80's, she could do it all. Vi started a career in Administration with Chevron Corporation at just sixteen years old and retired from there, respectively. She lived a very successful, yet simple life. She enjoyed simple pleasures such as driving herself to the neighborhood grocery, the DAV, the salvage store, or the closest thrift store up until she was almost 91…truly a force to be reckoned with. She delighted in finding discount items and passing them on to family, friends, & neighbors. Really, a classy & old-fashioned woman. Giving up her landline was non-negotiable as was giving up her daily newspaper delivery. She loved digging into the news. If she wasn't reading her daily newspaper, you could often find Vionna watching the news or talking about the news. On top of this, she was keen on keeping her yard in tip-top shape and sewing up clothing to curtains for family and friends.

She was a family woman through and through, always looking out for her family. Amanda, Tyler, their son Hunter, & daughter-in-law Connie were the center of her world and there was nothing she wouldn't do for any of them.

Services for Vionna will be held in combination with her son, Doug Curts, on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Chapel 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272. Services at 1230PM. Burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 10AM until the time of the service.
