Violet Wanda Lou Frost

Violet Wanda Lou Frost, 95, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Violet was an outgoing woman with a generous spirit, who loved people. She was a volunteer at Adventist Health Hanford Hospital and Hanford YMCA for over 30 years. For a period during that time, she also served as their treasurer. Violet was a member of First Christian Church of Hanford for over 50 years and a member of Graceland Church for 10 years. During her life, Violet dedicated herself to church, volunteering, and her family. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.

She was born on October 8, 1927, in Alma, Arkansas, to Melvan and Katie (Beamer) Lantz. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Patricia Coon; and sisters, Easter Eve "Bunny" Gunter, Susan Eubank, and Fairie Belle (Dink) Lantz.

Violet is survived by her son, Lance (Meri) Frost; stepdaughter, Sharin (Orville) Orr; grandchildren, Lee (Erica) Frost, Matthew (Amanda) Frost, Alex (Jenny) Frost, Andy (Katie) Jones, Dan (Arwen) Declan, Jill (Eric) Wack, Stacie Kinsell, Kenneth Hullett, Lynel Cullen, and Tricia Simmons; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Melvan and Joan Lantz; and many other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
