Viola (King) Corley, 93, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, July 22, 2015. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Floyds Knobs where she taught Sunday school for many years. Viola worked at the Card Post Hallmark store in New Albany for over 20 years and was a talented quilter and seamstress.
She was born on March 21, 1922 in Breckenridge County, Kentucky to the late John M. and Lora P. (Clark) King. Along with her parents, Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Corley; son, Kenneth "Kenny" M. Corley; and brothers, James Robert "Bob" and Wilbur King.
Viola is survived by her loving daughters, Patricia L. "Pat" Rauck (Bob), Linda S. Baumann, Dorothy K. "Dottie" Darst (Tony); sister, Audrey Powell; sisters-in-law, Thera King, Marilyn Corley, and Susie Corley; grandchildren, Shannon Bright (Jordan), Robert "Bobby" Rauck (Traci), Alisa Picozzi (Joseph), Linda Cook, Amy Williams (SGM Christopher), Elizabeth Hunt (Adam), Madeline Darst, Ian Darst, Melissa Darst; great-grandchildren, Molly, Kelsey, Leo, Joseph, Abigail, Jack, Kindra, Austin, James, Josie, Archer; and great-great-granddaughter, Eden; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12 PM to 6 PM on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Monday after 9 AM at her church. Her Funeral Service will take place at 10 AM on Monday at First Southern Baptist Church (4631 Lakeview Drive, Floyds Knobs, IN 47119) with burial to follow at Zachary Taylor National Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
