Vilma Miller, 91, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on February 8, 2024 at her home.
She was born on January 9, 1933 in Rachel, West Virginia to Joseph and Catherine Kochis. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norbert L. Miller; sons, Bradley Bennett and Christopher Miller; grandchildren, Jason Bennett and Ryan Bennett; and siblings, Irene, Albert, Henry, Bertha, Herbert, and Ernest.
Vilma is survived by her daughter, Alison Schachtner (James Rouleau); sons, Jackson Bennett (Lynn) and David Bennett (Paula); grandchildren, Jeffrey Bennett (Vanessa), Joseph Bennett, Alexandra Schachtner (Richard), Andrew Schachtner (Sarah), and Joseph Schachtner; great grandchildren, Jackson Bennett, Bella Bennett, Cecelia Briscoe, Isadora Bennett, Richard Irwin Williams, III, Silas Schachtner, and Xenia Schachtner; and her brother, Robert Kochis.
She was an Emeritus Embroidery Guild of America Member (EGA) Louisville, Ky and won multiple Blue Ribbons at the Ky State fair for her needlework entries. She began learning these skills when she moved to Ky in 1990's completing cross-stitch, hardanger, stump work, ribbon embroidery, temari balls and beaded heirloom items.
