Vicky Lynn Sowder

Vicky Lynn Sowder passed away on January 31, 2025. She was born in Jeffersonville, Indiana, on May 30, 1949, to the late James Bryson and Doris Timmons Bryson. Vicky's life was characterized by her competitive and playful spirit, which endeared her to those who knew her.

Vicky had a zest for life that was evident in her many hobbies, particularly her love for playing Bingo and engaging in card games such as Poker, Uno, Rummy, and Canasta. These activities brought joy not only to her but also to her family and friends, who cherished the moments spent together around the table.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa (Billy) Raymond; her brother, Wayne (Lisa) Bryson; her granddaughter, Danielle (Wesley) Sexton; her cherished great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Sutton, and Oakley Sexton; and her best friend, Myra Wacker. Vicky’s legacy will live on through these family members who will remember her with love and fondness.

Vicky was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Sowder, and her brother, Dale Bryson. Their memories remain an integral part of her story, and she is missed deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, at the funeral home with entombment to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
