Vernon Lee Jones, 66, passed away on January 15, 2023. He loved fishing, playing BINGO and spending time with his family. Vernon enjoyed collecting monkeys and going to auctions. He was a fighter to the end and had a beautiful soul. Vernon will be truly missed and will forever live in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Frieda Joyce Stone; father, Wayne Allen Jones and brothers, Billy Wayne Jones and Joey Emerson Jones.
Vernon leaves to cherish his memories, his sisters, Susan (Bill) Dresser, Catherine (Cathy Jo) Adamson and Stephanie Stone; step-father, Steve Stone and his fur baby, Yogi.
Visitation will be Friday, January 20, 2023, from 3pm-8pm, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272. A celebration of Vernon's life will be Saturday, January, 21, 2023, beginning at 2pm at the funeral home.
Vernon will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery - Central, 2501 N. Dixie Highway, Radcliff, KY on Wednesday on February 1, 2023, with a graveside service beginning at 1:30pm.
