Vernon Lee Bush Sr., age 86, of La Grange, KY passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024. Vernon was born in Elizabethtown, KY on September 15, 1937, to the late Lloyd and Ann Bush. He was a retired forklift driver from Ford Motor Company. Vernon adored his family and loved every moment spent with them. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and going on the Run for the Wall with his sons and grandsons. He was passionate about supporting the Veterans and their families, as well as, honoring those killed or missing in action. He always wanted to help others anytime day or night.
The one thing he enjoyed daily was his ice cream, oh how he enjoyed his ice cream. Vernon's sense of humor could put a smile on anyone's face, he made sure of it. Everyone that knew Vernon knew how he loved to tease with his unforgettable one liner, "DUH." One thing for sure, he was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
Vernon left to cherish in his memory his loving wife of 41 years, Nancy; his sons, Lee (Lisa), Kevin (Lori), Craig (Denise); his daughters, Deanna Baumert (Jay), Missy Marlow (Gary); stepdaughter, Shelley Catharine Johnson (Nate); sister Anna Smith (Thomas); and brother-in-law, Richard Milne. Vernon had 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great grandchild due in April; and a host of nieces of nephews.
A celebration of Vernon's life will be held later.
