Verna B. Marshall, 79, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, July 8, 2022.
She was born on August 8, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky to Roy and Elizabeth (Cummins) Curtsinger. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Bert Charles Marshall, daughter, Kimberly Ann Wood, grandson, Joshua Eric Gibbons, Sr., great grandson, Austin Thomas Castleman, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Verna spent her life taking care of her family; she will always be remembered for having a giving and compassionate heart. In her younger years she enjoyed making photo albums for her family and listening to music and making tapes. Verna found that her favorite pass time was playing Bingo; especially when she was sitting next to her best friends, Laura and Jenny.
Verna is survived by her loving daughters, Donna Lee Kleier, Kathy Lynn Johnson and Lisa Renee Marshall, 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and her siblings, Joyce Greenwell, Sharon McMillion and Donnie Curtsinger.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). A service celebrating her life will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, at the funeral home with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
The family requests that contributions in Verna 's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Program.
