Verlie "Elsie" Hackney, 89, of Coxs Creek, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024.
She was born on May 30, 1934 in Willisburg, Kentucky to the late Willet and Della (Terrell) Barker . Verlie is a former employee of St. Anthony Hospital and the Old Linkers Bakery in Louisville. Along with her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter, Brenda Jones (Richardson). Verlie is survived by her loving son, Billy Hackney (Rita) and one other daughter, seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 22nd at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Her Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 23rd the funeral home with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens West.
