Vera Mccutcheon

Vera (Basil) "Brady" McCutcheon, 90, of New Albany, Indiana died on Monday, September 15, 2014. She was a devoted member of the VFW Post #1693, where she served on the Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion Post 28. Brady was very proud to be the original "Chicken Dumpling Lady" at the Harvest Homecoming.

Brady was born on October 22, 1923 in Glasgow, Kentucky to the late Charles & Ada (White) Basil. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse McCutcheon; brothers, Raymond & Carroll Basil; sister, Vada Tilley.

She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Curtis (Kenny); grandchildren, Michael (Aimee), David (Julia), & Christopher Curtis; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Zachary, Hailey, Mallory & Alexa Curtis.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 PM on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane New Albany, Indiana 47150). Her Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
