Varia Faye Smith

Varia Faye Smith, 67, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Varia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was resilient, passionate and feisty. Varia loved her family endlessly. She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She was born on July 2, 1957 in Ramer, Alabama to Nelson and Katie (Dixon) Glenn. She is preceded in death by her father, Nelson Glenn; mother, Katie Mae Glenn; husband, Maurice Smith; son, Jerry Dwayne Smith; sister, Brenda Glenn; brother, James Glenn; niece, Malisa Taylor; and nephews, Alston Walters, and Antwan Thornton.

Varia is survived by her loving family, son, Jeffrey Lamont Smith; granddaughters, Jasmine (Larry) Sweeting, Deseray Smith, Jayla Robinson; sisters, Gloria Glenn, Sarah Clayton, Elaine Glenn, Sheila (Gregory) Adams; brothers, Nelson (Bernice) Glenn, Jr., Anthony (Michelle) Glenn; sister-in-law, Shirley Smith; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Larry, Mark Anthony, Malachi, David; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends to cherish her loving memory forever.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel.
