Tye Ashton was a beloved family man, born on June 18, 1972, in New Albany, Indiana, departed this world on February 9, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy steeped in kindness, humor, and an unwavering devotion to his family and friends.
He had a commendable career of 32 years as a Contingency Supervisor at UPS in Louisville, Kentucky. His work ethic was a reflection of his character a kind-hearted and generous spirit always willing to lend a hand to those in need. Tye’s dedication was not only reserved for his profession but extended to his life as a devoted family man, where the joys of his wife, Diane Ashton, and their children, John "Ethan" Ashton and Lyndsay Carr, filled his heart with pride and happiness. Tye also embraced his role as a grandfather to Jude Garner, whose laughter and antics brought him immense joy.
A graduate of Floyd Central High School Class of 1990, Tye’s educational journey laid the foundation for a life of purpose and fulfillment. He enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, finding joy in fishing, boating, celebrating IU sports, and spending sunny days barbequing with family and friends. His beloved dogs, Ellie and Riley, were also a source of pride and companionship, further enriching his life.
Tye’s belief in giving back was evident in his role as an organ donor, illustrating his commitment to ensuring that his kindness would continue to impact lives even after his own. His spirit of generosity was not only a testament to his character, but a lesson for all who knew him.
Tye's beloved mother, Janis Ashton, and his extended family, including his sister Jennifer (Cam) Horan, nephew Connor Horan, and niece Genevieve Horan, will forever hold dear the memories of the moments they shared together. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of friends who will remember him for his encouraging words and supportive demeanor. He is predeceased by his father, John A. Ashton.
