Troy A. Winningham, 53, of Bardstown, Kentucky, passed away on March 4, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 9, 1971, in Sumter, South Carolina, Troy's early life was marked by an unwavering spirit of kindness and laughter that endeared him to all who knew him.
Troy enjoyed a meaningful career that began with the Ford Motor Company, later transitioning to various construction crews, and ultimately dedicating his skills to Derby City Concrete. This journey reflected his adaptability and commitment to providing for his family.
Known for his loving and caring personality, Troy was frequently described as funny, outgoing, and someone who never met a stranger. His friends and family cherished his humor, even when it came to his self-proclaimed status as a "bad golfer." Despite his lack of golfing prowess, his enthusiasm for the game brought joy to many. He also loved playing music with his band, Honey Wagon, and shared memorable experiences with loved ones during Disney vacations and family gatherings, where his playful pranks always sparked laughter.
Troy took immense pride in his family, especially in his son, Trevor, and his wife of seven years, Stephanie "Effie" R. Winningham. He is also survived by his sister, Robin Winningham, his parents, Rob and Vickie Winningham, in-laws, David and Connie Graham as well as his niece, Phoenix Corbett, and nephews, Kaden Turvey, Rucker Winningham and his emotional support wieners, Olive and Penny. His legacy continues through a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will remember him fondly.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Odella and Jack Dickey and Dorothy and Robert Winningham, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.
The visitation for Troy A. Winningham will take place on March 17, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and again on March 18, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, East Louisville, located at 235 Juneau Dr, Louisville, KY 40243. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 11:00 AM on March 18,2025 with a graveside service at Louisville Memorial Gardens East, 11601 Ballardsville Road, Louisville, KY 40241.
Troy’s loving memory will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know him.
