Troy Lamont Hamilton was born April 7, 1972, in Louisville, Kentucky to Richard Boykin and Darlene Hamilton-Boykin. He was proceeded in death by his mother. God call him home on April 24th, 2024. "For God so love the world…" was his favorite scripture.
Troy graduated from Seneca High School in 1991 in Jefferson County, Louisville, Kentucky. He worked temporarily until his health begin to fail him. Troy struggled physically but he was an inspiration to everybody because he never let his disability stop him.
Troy accepted Christ at a very early age and was baptized by the late Rev. L. C. Rhea. He was dedicated to Mt. Vernon and worked diligently in the church alongside his mother, grandparents, aunts and uncles. He worked in the nursery with the little ones and all the kids love him. Troy was known as the "candyman." He always had candy for the kids.
Troy never stopped coming to church, even after a hospital-stay he came to church that next Sunday. He came to church when he was feeling bad, he came to church no matter what. Troy loved his church, his church family and his Pastor, Rev. Terry Jones.
His beautiful life and memory will forever be cherished in the lives of his father, Richard (Linda); his care-giving uncle, James Hamilton; his god-sister, Monica Wheat, who was always there for him. His very close cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, 3640 Cane Run Road, Louisville, KY 40211, from 10am-11am with a celebration of Troy's life will beginning at 11am.
Troy will be laid to rest at Green Meadows Cemetery, 3800 Shanks Lane, Louisville, KY.
