Travis "Moose" Paul Windhorst, Jr., 48, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away after a short but hard fought illness on Friday, May 6, 2022. Moose was loyal, loving, kind, and never met a stranger. He always had a smirk on his face and something sarcastic to say. Moose was a gun enthusiast and one of his joys in life was teaching others how to safely use firearms. He loved his Bronco, Bonnie. He loved political YouTube videos that drove his wife insane. Moose was a strong advocate for Autism awareness. Most importantly, he loved his family. Moose will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
He was born on June 20, 1973 in Louisville, Kentucky to Travis and Debbie (Casey) Windhorst. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Micky Windhorst, Edna Beeler, Russell and Bonnie Casey; aunt, Cappy; and his sister, Margaret Bensing.
Moose is survived by his loving Wife of 26 years and high school sweetheart, Jennifer Windhorst, parents, Debbie (Harry) Beeler, Sylvia (Ronald) Tunget, Travis (Luann) Windhorst, Sr.; children, Emily Youngblood, Myranda Windhorst, Alexander Windhorst; grandbaby, Deshawn Massey; siblings, Debbie Beeler, Karen (Rob) Rice, Jim Raeuchle, Robbie Tunget, Robin (Michael) Howard, , Jessica White, Amanda Sparks; nieces and nephews, Nikki Shirley, Dakota Davis, Joshua Rice, Katelyn Rice, Jake (Melissa) Davis, Amanda Davis, Dan (Alex) Davis, Courtney (Michael) Flaugher, Devon White, Summer Shirley, Sierra Howard, Bentlee Summers, Savannah Howard, Astraya Wooley; as well as host of extended family and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 13, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
