Tina D. Bell

April 14, 1964 — February 19, 2023

Tina Denise Bell of Louisville, Kentucky left this earth on Sunday, the 19th of February, 2023. The love of her family and friends surrounded her as she passed. Tina was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Margaret Bell (Nana) and father, Jackie Eugene Bell. She is survived by her son, Gregory Miller, and granddaughter, Melanie Miller.

Tina was one of those rare and special people that could fill a room with her laughter and energy. She is loved and remembered by a slew of family, friends, students, and the LGBTQIA+ community.

Tina touched the lives of many. She was a pillar of change in Louisville. During the 80's and 90's, she was an integral part of the growth of the LGBTQIA+ community. She was the owner Tynkers, Tynkers II, and Tinks. These were very special places that allowed the community to grow and develop.

Tina was also a special teacher that connected to her students on a higher level than simply academic. She made close connections and supported growth through understanding and love.

She was a friend to all she met and will be remembered well as she was a memorable and remarkable person. She was kind and supportive to all her friends, students, and family throughout her entire life.

She will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of life will be held on April 29, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the Sellersburg Moose Lodge, 1040 S. Indiana Avenue, Sellersburg, IN 47172.

The family welcomes donations to the Louisville Youth Group and/or an animal shelter of your choice as an expression of sympathy instead of flowers.

The Broken Chain

We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.

A family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
