Timothy Welsh Jr.

Timothy Welsh Jr., 74, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023. Tim was a 1966 graduate of Providence high school. After graduating, he joined the United States Navy and served honorably during the Vietnam War. Tim went on to work for Bell South and retired after 35 years with the company. During that time, he also opened his own restaurant, Lil Joe's. Tim also loved the Kentucky Derby. He worked with the festival for several years and collected all the memorabilia he could find. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

He was born on September 17, 1948 in Clarksville, Indiana to Timothy and Lorna (Etheredge) Welsh. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Rose Marie Shipley and Judy Boyce; and his brothers, Jude Welsh and Anthony Welsh.

Timothy is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Chad) Snyder; son, Shawn Welsh; sister, Terri Mayberry; brother, Tommy Welsh; sister, Lorna New; brother, Matthew Welsh; sister, Rita Pagan; granddaughter, Lillian Snyder; and grandsons, Jackson Snyder, Cody Snyder, and Justin Tyler Welsh.

Cremation was chosen and there will be no public services at this time.
