Timothy Dale Dabney, 69, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2024. He was born on September 30, 1955, in Jeffersonville to Delbert and Colean (Jones) Dabney. Timothy dedicated 20 years of his professional life to the United States Department of Agriculture, where contributed greatly to his field before retiring.
A passionate and active individual, Tim embraced life to the fullest, with cycling and playing golf being some of his favorite activities. However, a bicycle accident in 2008 shifted the dynamics of his life, yet he continued to foster his love for sports as a passionate fan of the Hoosiers, Bengals and Reds.
In addition to his professional dedication, Tim cherished his family deeply. Along with his parents, Tim is survived by his wife of almost 25 years, Deborah (Walker) Dabney, and sons, Adam (Megan Moore), Justin (Laura), and Samuel Dabney; step-sons, Joseph (Lindsey) and Christopher Poe (April). Tim also leaves behind his siblings, sisters, Debra Pierce (Lee), Hope Beams (Rondal), and Sarah Gaddie, and brothers, Patrick, Frank, and David Dabney. His legacy includes a number of cherished grandchildren: Lexi Myers, Jillian Dabney, Natalie Dabney, Kadyn Fullwood, Lakelyn Poe, Samson Poe, and Lorelei Dabney, along with several nieces and nephews who adored him.
Visitation for Tim will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane in New Albany) and continuing on Thursday after 11:00 a.m. His funeral service will commence at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, followed by burial at Milltown Cemetery in Milltown, Indiana.
