J. Timothy Marcum,58, died February 12, 2012, in Shelbyville. He was a native of Louisville and most recently lived in Campbellsville.
Tim was born February 2, 1954 to Evelyn and Paul Marcum. He grew up in the South End, graduating from Iroquois High School. He attended the University of Louisville on a basketball scholarship and graduated magna cum laude with a degree in recreation in 1975. For the last decade he operated his own construction company, Marcum and Associates, specializing in commercial buildings and professional offices.
Tim was an active member of Vineyard Community Church in Campbellsville. Previously he was an elder at Living Waters Church in Shelbyville.
Tim is survived by his wife, the former Tama Sage; children, David Marcum (Amy), Erin Lee (Greg) and Jordan Marcum (Adrienne); a brother, Jack Marcum (Patti) and a sister, Anita Mitchum (Chester); 11 grandchildren: Jack, Eliza, Henry Paul, Charlotte, and Luke Marcum, Anna Grace, and Jonathan, Samuel, Isaac, Rachel and Nathaniel Lee.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012 at New Life Church, 3402 Goose Creek Rd. in Louisville.
