Thomas "Tom" Gray, Sr., age 72, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025.
Tom was a beacon of love and joy in the lives of many as a devoted father, cherished partner, beloved grandpa, brother, uncle, and treasured friend. He had an infectious spirit that lit up any room he entered. In his leisure time, you could often find him enjoying a game of Bingo, reveling in the excitement of the casinos, belting out tunes during karaoke nights, or taking delightful vacations down south—places like Tunica, Mississippi, Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Pensacola, Florida, where he spent special moments of his life.
With a heart full of zest for life, Tom embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories, whether it was indulging in his love of food "big foodie", listening to his favorite singer Elvis Presley or rooting passionately for his favorite team Louisville Basketball. His warmth and fun-loving nature will be profoundly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on March 7, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky, Tom was the son of James Gray and Freda Mahoney. He has been welcomed into eternal rest by his loving family members who have preceded him: his brothers Michael Gray and James Gray, Jr., sister Linda Stull, and brother-in-law Randy Stull.
Tom's legacy of love continues through those he leaves behind: his significant other, Joann Baker; daughter, Laurie Gray; son, Thomas "Toby" Gray, Jr.; sister, Sharon Yuen-Collins (Stephen); granddaughter, Brooklyn Gray; nieces Angela Long, Karen Gaona, Maria Gaona, Traci Hoagland; four great-grandchildren; and a multitude of friends and family who hold his memory dear in their hearts.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Southwest Louisville Chapel. Please note that services are subject to change.
