Thomas Richard Slayton
February 5, 1960 — August 16, 2023
Thomas Slayton passed away at the age of 63, on August 16, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by loved ones.
Tom was born to Doug (deceased) and Shirley Slayton.
He graduated from Butler High School and then attended the University of Louisville, until a new opportunity to purchase Moody's, a bar/restaurant presented itself. This became his passion-serving friends and patrons for 25 years.
Tom was a devoted father and animal lover. He loved the outdoors and was an avid birdwatcher. In addition, he enjoyed history, a good beer, rock & roll and watching Alfred Hitchcock movies with his boys.
He is survived by two sons, James and Jesse and their mother, Patty, as well as four siblings, Tim (Kim), Tami, Toni, and Traci.
