Thomas Sauer

Thomas Sauer, 90, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024.

He was born on March 18, 1934 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John and Cuma (Larson) Sauer. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Betty Lane Sauer, his granddaughter, Mindy Michelle Buchanan and his siblings, Johnny Sauer, Theodore Sauer, Adolph Sauer, Lawrence Sauer, Joseph "Red" Sauer, Clifford "Butch" Sauer, Jerry Sauer, Cuma "Sissy" Sauer and Jane Sauer.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Barbara (Fowler) Sauer, children, Rhonda Sauer Taylor, Thomas E. (Robin) Sauer, Donna (David ) Sauer Hill, Lonna Sauer Warman, Tammy Joy (Doug ) Sauer Futhey, Danny (Tammy) Sauer, Penny (David) Sauer Hack, 16 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, a sister, Joan Sauer and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him very much.

Tom was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was an self employed handyman that could fix anything you put in front of him. Tom had an amazing personality and always had a joke to share. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, golf and horse shoes. He loved spending time with his family and his church family. Tom's passion was his church and his faith; doing things for the church and for all God's people is what fueled him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strong faith and passion that will be carried on through the ones that love him the most; his family.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 10th at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 11th at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Gospel of the Kingdom Campground Memorial Cemetery in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.
