Thomas Richard Filiatreau at age 78 was called home on February 1, 2014 at Nazareth Home. He was first born of thirteen children into a farming family in Bardstown, Kentucky. He entered the Airforce at age nineteen, served twenty three years and continued working in civil service for twenty more years. Thomas enjoyed traveling to different places, hiking, and spending time with his family. Tom was also involved serving his community through various ministries such as Knights of Columbus, Cursillo and Prison ministry.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Theresa Filiatreau, first wife Genieve and son John. He is survived by his wife Joyce of twenty four years, daughter Kathy Filiatreau, step daughter Audrey Ruiz-Smith, step son Chris Erschen and twelve siblings; George Filiatreau, Carolyn Crepps, Joyce Edelen, Elizabeth Mayer, Samuel Filiatreau, Susan Smith, Charles Filiatreau, Alice Filiatreau, Ann Riley, Nazaire Filiatreau, Jeanette Stephans, and Jack Filiatreau.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at The Nazareth Home Facility who loved and cared for Tom the last six years of his life as he pushed through the stages of multi- symptom Parkinsons Disease.
