Thomas J. "Mac" McCarthy, Jr., 69, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. He was born on October 29, 1944 to the late Thomas James McCarthy Sr., and Magdalin (Foushee) McCarthy. He was the owner of McCarthy's Auto Repair for 40 plus years and was one of the first members of the Obsolete Iron Car Club. Along with his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his wife Patricia A. (Toole) McCarthy.
He is survived by his daughter; Elizabeth James McCarthy, son; Adam Thomas McCarthy, step-daughter; Tambra Weidekamp, step-son; Wade Fleming, three grandchildren; Elexis Marie Pike, Adam McCarthy Jr., and Riley Nevitt, step-grandchildren, Kelsey, Shelby, Sydney, Daniel, Wade and Cole. He is also survived by a host of loving friends and family.
Funeral ceremonies will be held on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:00 am, with visitation on Sunday, July 20, 2014 from 1:00pm until 8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Jefferson Manor.
Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to the American Cancer Society.
