Thomas Lester Jackson

Thomas Lester "Tom" Jackson, age 85 passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Baptist Hospital East. He was born on September 17, 1928 in Mobile, Alabama. He was an alumni of Samford University in Birmingham. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. Tom was retired from Humana and a lifetime member of the VFW. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary B. and Monroe Jackson; his first wife Dorothy; and son Daniel Jackson.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of 17 years, Carol Springston Bloemer Jackson; children, Frances Burch (Sam), David Jackson (Heather), Cyndi Renteria (Nick), Thomas Bloemer, Jr., Sherry Baird (Bland), Steven Bloemer (Stephanie) and Patty Gwin (Tim); also 17 Grandchildren, 5 Great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral ceremony will be 11am Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with burial to follow at Beth Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8pm Wednesday and after 9:30am until time of service on Thursday.
