Thomas James Henry Irwin, 89 passed from this world to the next on September 8, 2014. A native of Willoughby, Ohio, he was born on October 13, 1924 to immigrant Irish and Swedish parents. He served in World War II in the Pacific theater. After the war he attended Case Western Reserve College, while there he started the first integrated fraternity.
He worked as a branch manager for Victor Comtometor Corporation until its demise. In his later years he worked for Beau Publishing Company in Elizabethtown. He retired at age 70.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years; Lois Irwin, his two children; Thomas Henry Irwin and Karen Sue Irwin (Veron). He was a blessed with six grandchildren; Ingrid, Kim, Ian, August, Amelia, and Hillary Veron.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September, 11, 2014 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home located at 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky.
Funeral ceremonies will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 11:00am at St. John's Lutheran Church located at 901 Breckenridge Lane, Louisville, Kentucky with burial immediately following in St. Michaels Cemetery.
