Thomas Paul Eckhoff

Thomas Paul Eckhoff, 75, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023 with his loving family by his side. Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend.

Tom was born on January 23, 1948 to Florence and Thomas C. Eckhoff in Hammond, Indiana. He graduated from Dyer Central High School and went on to get his B.A. degree in Biology and an M.S. degree in Business Administration at Indiana University. He met his future wife Barbara in 1972 and they got married in January of 1975. Soon after, they decided to start their family and their son Mike and daughter Lisa were born in Hobart, Indiana.

With their young children in hand, they moved to Louisville, KY in 1983 where Tom began working as a laboratory manager at Methodist Evangelical Hospital. Tom and Barbara later owned and operated a deli in Oxmoor Mall which they ran from 1992 until 2001. Before retiring, he also worked as a medical laboratory consultant.

Tom and Barbara recently moved into The Grand Senior Living where they were beloved members of the community.

Tom was preceded in death by his loving wife Barbara in July 2022. Tom is survived by his two wonderful children, Lisa (Eric) McKinney and Mike (Diane) Eckhoff. Tom was also a treasured grandfather to Kaylie and Abby Eckhoff.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 402432).

Visitation will also be from 10:00 am until the time of Mass at 11:00 am on Friday, May 5, 2023 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church (6500 St. Bernadette Avenue, Prospect, KY 40059) with burial to follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
