It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Martin Cecil, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather who passed away on December 25, 2024, in Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 87.

Tom was born on March 3, 1937, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Thomas L. Cecil and Cora F. Rosenberger. He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University. Tom retired as Regional Manager from Electric Insurance Company after 25 years and was a member of the GE Elfun Society. Tom was a dedicated member of St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, where he was actively involved in the life of the congregation and a member of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew.

He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Royse Cecil; his children, Thomas Cecil Jr., Chad Cecil (Nikki), and Deanna Ferreira (Renato); his stepsons, Rich Klutz (Rachel), Robbie Klutz (Lorena), and Kevin Klutz (Sandra); and his grandchildren, Leticia and Gabriela Ferreira. He is also survived by his sister, Betty McKinley, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. 

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Laura Lee Harpring and Janet Flowers.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, 6710 Wolf Pen Branch Road, Prospect, KY 40059.
