Thomas L. Burres Jr.

Thomas L. Burres Jr., affectionately known as "TJ," born on November 2, 1960, in New Albany, Indiana. He passed away on October 7, 2024, in his beloved hometown, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and love.

His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He cherished the time spent with Sayrina, Ella, and Bryson, and they brought immense happiness into his life. He attended New Albany High School. TJ carried with him the spirit of his upbringing, embracing interests that brought joy not only to him but also to those fortunate to know him. He had a deep love for NASCAR, a passion for sports, and an adventurous spirit that showed through his enjoyment of riding four-wheelers.

TJ worked at Pegasus Industries, where he worked diligently in the packaging department. His commitment to his work was reflected in the pride he took in each task, contributing to the community and the lives of those around him.

Family meant everything to TJ. He is survived by his sons, Thomas (Yudith) Burres, III and Shaun Burres; his daughter, Eugenia Hollman; his sister, Veneshia (David) Saltsgaver; and his brother, Kevin Burres. The bonds he formed with his family were steadfast and filled with love, reinforcing the values he held dear throughout his life.

In addition, TJ is preceded in death by his parents, who nurtured in him a strong foundation of kindness and camaraderie that has been evident to all who knew him.

A visitation will be held in his honor on October 14, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Eastern Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.

As we remember Thomas L. Burres Jr. during this time, we celebrate the love he shared, the family he cherished, and the impact he made on the lives of many. He will be missed dearly and remembered fondly by all who had the privilege to know him.
