Therica Marie Thompson

Therica "Marie" (Jennings) Thompson, 69, a long-time resident of New Albany, Indiana, entered into Heaven on Friday, October 12, 2012 after an almost 7 year battle against cancer. She retired as a registered nurse for the University of Louisville Hospital Pediatrics Unit. Marie was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Walker and Lillian (Snider) Jennings; brother, Howard Jennings; and grandson, Terry Thompson.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 18 years, Paul Thompson; children, Thomas Lee Reeder (Susan), Edward Louis Reeder (Lori), Tonda Kaye Reeder (Al Orduno, Jr.), Jennie Linn Huffman (Joseph), Regina Louise Disponett (David); step-daughter, Missy Withers (Timothy); sisters, Juanita Spears, Alverna Falb; brother, Rick Jennings (Barb); grandchildren, Nina, Jacob (Heather), Thomas, Craig, Samantha, Alex, James, Dillon, Jessica, Abby; and great-granddaughter, Morgan.

Visitation will be from 12 to 3 PM Monday, October 15, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with cremation to follow according to Marie's wishes. There will be no service held at the funeral home.

Marie also wanted to share special heart-felt thanks for the exceptional and loving care she received from Dr. Dev and her wonderful staff. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Care Center of Southern Indiana.
