Theodore E. Venne

Theodore E. "Ted" Venne, 81, of Floyds Knobs, Indiana passed away on Sunday morning, August 14, 2011 at his home. Ted worked for K&I Railroad and retired from Norfolk Southern after 41 years of service and was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs.

Ted was born on August 10, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Ernest J. and Amelia (Becht) Venne. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Yvonne Fentress and son, Felix Venne.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary R. (Bube) Venne; children, Jane Venne, Ernest Venne, Sara Edwards (Ray), Tim Venne (Stephanie), Eva Andres, Mark Venne (Ronda Nuanez); siblings, Charles B. Venne (Lorraine), Mary Hollkamp, and Martha Ederer (Jim); 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 PM on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church (3033 Martin Road, Floyds Knobs). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Thursday, August 18 at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church or Hosparus – the Hospice Community of Southern Indiana.
