Terry P. Rowe, 81, of Charlestown, Indiana, and formerly of East Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024. Terry was a graduate of John Tyler High School and went on to graduate from Steven F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas and also the Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. She furthered her education by attending classes at the University of Louisville and Spalding College in Louisville, Kentucky. Terry spent many years teaching in the Jefferson County Public School System in Louisville and specialized in instructing children from second to eighth grade. She dedicated years to teaching math, algebra, geometry, and biology at the Kentucky School for the Blind. Terry, WD4IXL, was a member of the Clark County Amateur Radio Club for over 40 years. She loved crafts and playing the organ.
She was born on March 5, 1942 in Texas to the late John and Billye Burns. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Rowe; brothers, Johnny Earl and Thomas Jerry Burns; and grandson, Brandon White.
Those left surviving to carry on Terry's memory include her granddaughter, Sarah (Andrew) Cecil; nephews, Butch (Patsy) Burns, Jerry Burns, and Carl Burns of east Texas; as well as many other close relatives and friends.
Cremation was chosen following Terry's wishes. Her Memorial Service will be at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Graceland Church - Memphis Campus (15107 U.S. 31, Memphis, IN 47143). She will be laid to rest in East Texas.
