Terry Dell Boaz, 86, of Greenville, Indiana, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022. He served in the United States Navy and retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad. In his younger years, Terry had volunteered for the Greenville Township Fire Department and been an active volunteer at Brandon's House Counseling Center. Always at the center of Terry's life was his faith, as witnessed by his dedicated involvement at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church and Mount St. Francis Center for Spirituality.
He was born on June 24, 1936, in Floyd County, Indiana, to Gilmer and Nellie (Hartman) Boaz. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his siblings, Delora, Gladden, Jack, Mick, Elson, Lamoine, Larry, and Una.
Terry is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Linda (Salyers) Boaz; daughters, Delora Boaz (Karen Kaye), Melinda Koopman (Ron), and Danelle Staser (Tim); sisters-in-law, Betty and Lois Boaz; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 26, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at St. Mary Navilleton Catholic Church (7500 Navilleton Road, Floyds Knobs) with burial and military honors to follow in the church cemetery.
