Tarassia Ann Tharp, 82, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024. Tarassia enjoyed tennis, reading, sewing, knitting, fencing, playing the violin and piano, and most importantly spending time with family.

She was born on May 28, 1941 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Lee and Virginia (Hurst) Staser. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Kelly L. Howard.

Tarassia is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Mark Tharp; daughter, Tarassia M. Allen; son, Robert L. (Melinda) Stapp; son, Roger E. (Dana) Stapp; grandchildren, Jeremy, Samanatha (Randy), Tyler (Evelyn), Shayne (Esme), Aaron, Rachel (Justin), Jaycee, Brianna (Cody), Hannah (Kevin), and Samuel; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Linda Magness; sister, Donna Staser; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). Private burial at a later date.

The family requests that contributions in Tarassia's memory be made to ASPCA to protect animals.
