T. Marie (Tinius) Braunbeck, 95, of New Albany passed away on Monday, February 21, 2011. She worked for nine years in the cafeteria at Our Lady of Providence Jr./Sr. High School. She was also employed at the Walter Kahn Clothing Store for twelve years. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Mary of the Annunciation Catholic Church in New Albany, a member of St. Mary's Altar Society, and with her husband, Jimmy, was very involved with the Soup Kitchen at St. Mary's.
Marie was born October 11, 1915 in Floyd County, Indiana to the late John Frederick and Mary Matilda (Ritz) Tinius. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Braunbeck and her oldest son, William "Bill" Braunbeck.
Marie is survived by daughter, Betty Davidson Blum and husband, Steven of Natick, Massachusetts; and a son, James R. Braunbeck and his wife, Sandy of New Albany; sisters, Rose Block and her husband, Will and Margaret Gunther of Virginia ; brothers, George "Tooter" Tinius and his wife, Catherine "Teeny" and Frank "Murph" Tinius of Nebraska; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, February 24 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150). Her Funeral Mass will be at 2 PM on Friday, February 25 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Albany with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in New Albany.
