Suzanne Brown (Hess) Huber Doerr

Suzanne Brown (Hess) Huber Doerr, of Sellersburg, Indiana, was peacefully welcomed to Heaven on January 25, 2023. A devout Catholic, Suzanne was born March 4, 1939, in New Albany, Indiana. She was the middle child of the late Earl and Esther (Brown) Hess.

Suzanne is preceded in death by her parents; son, Bryan; son-in-law, Mark Newman; stepmother, Tennie; and husband, Bob Doerr.

She is survived by her son, Robert Huber, Jr., and his wife, Leah; her daughters, Brenda Newman, Lisa Matlin, and Paige Huber; grandchildren, Elizabeth Auxier (Chuck), Nicholas Auxier (Melinda), Caroline Huber (Chase), Lara Newman, Rebekah Huber, Olivia Matlin, and Marisa Matlin; great-grandchildren, Landon, Beckett, and Sabali; brother, Earl, Jr., "Mick" (Kaye); sister, Patricia (Donald); dear friends, Mary Catherine Rager, Stephanie Pauley, and Neal Goodlett; and her dog, Barney.

Suzanne's family would like to thank all her healthcare champions, especially Brooke M., Cena, Sue N., Jessica B., and Kris K. from Sellersburg Healthcare, and the care team at Clark Memorial, including Becca, Jenny, and Chelsea. Her family is forever grateful for the incredible gift of hospice and the heartfelt attention from the Jeffersonville Amedisys team.

Her funeral service will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. with visitation immediately following until 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shamrock Foundation (shamrockpets.com/donate or P.O. Box 24033, Louisville, KY 40224) or to the charity of donor's choice.
