Susan J. Woodruff

Susan J. Woodruff, age 70 of Louisville, Kentucky was surrounded by family and friends as she peacefully entered into the joy of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Susan was born March 30, 1954 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Glenn M. Thomas and Hannelore (Pradel) Thomas. 

Sue was a cherished member of The Reformed Baptist Church of Louisville, where she found love and support in a caring community. Her appreciation for music spanned jazz, classical and southern gospel genres. She also had a particular fondness for pumpkin chocolate chip muffins – a simple delight that brought her joy.

Sue is survived by her devoted husband of 28 years, John W. Woodruff. The couple married on August 3, 1996 and built a life filled with love and cherished memories. Also Sue is survived by her sisters, Karen Thomas McSpadden (Stephen) and Nadine Thomas Wilkerson (David); nephews, James Patrick Wilkerson (and his son, Tristan) and Michael Ryan Wilkerson (Brenda and children Mikaela, Joseph and Isabella); aunt and uncle, Carol Jean and Bill Mauer; cousins, Sandra Pesta (Mike), Darlene Nagrosky, Dan Stone (Janice), Craig McKenzie, Jr (Gloria); Susan Corgliano and the Crevani family – Darlene, Susan, John, Michelle and Jimmy; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243 and from 9am to 11am on Friday, January 31st at the Reformed Baptist Church, 3400 Wilderness Trail, Louisville, KY 40299.  A celebration of Susan's life will be held at the church after visitation at 11am, with burial to follow in Floydsburg Cemetery.
