Susan Lynn Williams

Susan Lynn Williams, 56, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018. She practiced as a civil corporate attorney since 1985 and was a member of the American Bar Association. Susan loved horses, spending time with her nieces and nephews, and especially enjoyed being on the river.

She was born on April 7, 1961, in Terre Haute, Indiana. Susan is preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Judith and Thomas Risico; grandparents, Bill and Julia Schoening and Dick and Louella Williams; and step-grandmother, Kathleen Williams.

She is survived by her wife, Lana Gottula Proffitt; father, Dick Williams (Susie); brother, Richard Williams (Theresa); stepsisters, Shima Gettelfinger (Don) and Christie Foushee; stepbrothers, Chad Campbell (Michelle) and Todd Campbell (Deena); nephews, Michael Crone (Leah) and Rick Williams; niece, Danielle Williams (Kaden Nolot); stepson, Matthew Proffitt; and uncle, Bill Schoening (Kim).

A Memorial Gathering will be from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). Her Memorial Service will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
