Susan Gail Sumner (Sheehan), departed from this world on April 7, 2024 after a long illness at Norton's Hosparus. Born into the loving arms of June R. Sheehan (Hester) and William C. Sheehan, Sr. December 21, 1959 in Louisville, was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gregory Sumner, Sr., and brothers William, Gary, and Steve Sheehan.
Susan's life was one marked by a spirited and adventurous heart. She was a graduate of St. Helen's Catholic School and Western High School, and retired from a fulfilling career with Kellogg's, where she was a dedicated employee.
Susan was a lover of music, finding joy and solace in melodies that echoed her own zest for life. She had a green thumb, pouring her love into her garden, which bloomed as vibrantly as her personality. Above all, Susan's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her daughter Ashley Sumner, her son Gregory Sumner, Jr., and her sisters Lisa Lardner and Sharron Cox, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Susan Gail Sumner's story does not end with her passing; it is carried forward in the lives of her children, her family, and the countless lives she touched. Her memory will be cherished, her laughter will echo in the stories retold.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in her name to Catholic Charities of Louisville (cclou.org)
