Susan Marie Birk

Susan Marie "Sue" Birk, 70, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. Sue was a proud member of Optimist Club in Georgetown and National Campers and Hikers Association. She enjoyed animals, camping, Kentucky Wildcats, her Christmas City, cards, and most importantly spending time with family.

She was born on March 24, 1953 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Walter "Doc" and Mary (Reas) Erdman. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Birk; brother, Robert Erdman; and sister, Mary Alice Erdman.

Susan is survived by her sister, Margie Drake; niece, Roberta "Bobbi" (Carl) Balmer; niece, Karen Overberg; nephew, Kevin (Jebby) Erdman; nephew, Tommy Erdman; nephew, David Drake; nephew, Jimmy (Dori) Drake; nephew, Chris (Charity) Drake; niece, Beth (Stanley) Drake-Brown; and numerous family members.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150). Her Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park in New Albany, Indiana.
