Susan Holmes
March 29, 1945 — November 12, 2022
Susan Holmes of Louisville Kentucky passed away November 12, 2022 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 77 years of age.
A native of Jeffersonville Indiana and graduate of Indiana University Southeast, she is survived by her husband, Douglass Holmes, her brother John Raidy (OJ) of West Palm Beach FL and Michael Raidy of Rising Sun IN, her daughters Rebecca Geracitano (Mickey) of Cox's Creek KY, Carolyn Wolfe of Spring TX, sons Fred Houghton of Mt. Washington KY, Clay Holmes of Louisville, and Case Holmes of Prinevill OR. She is also survived by grandchildren Stasya Berber, Nadia Cunningham (Jimmy), Jesse Wolfe, and Crystal Wolfe, as well as great-grandsons Christopher Lincoln Cunningham and Damian Amari Cooke.
Susan was a member of Westport Road Baptist Church and a longtime employee and member of the Northeast YMCA. She had many friends in Weight Watchers, the American War Orphans Network and the ballroom and tango dancing communities in Louisville.
Visitation will be at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals, and Receptions East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville KY 40243) on Saturday November 19th beginning at 1:00 PM followed by a short service at 4:00 PM. A celebration party of Susan's life will be at Blair Ballroom (9321 New La Grange Rd, Louisville, KY 40242) from 6-10pm.
