Susan Hitt Wemes

Susan Hitt Wemes, 55, passed away on May 17 in Louisville. She is survived by her children, Eric (Meagan), Sharyn Wemes Meuth (Mason), Tim, Matthew, and Patrick (Kelly) Wemes and their daughter, Isabella, her step sons, David and Micah Wemes and her parents, J. B. and Elaine Hitt. She also leaves her loving companion and caretaker, James S. Darnell, her aunts Barbara DeGeorge, Suzanne Bolus and Marilyn Bower (Brooks), her sisters-in-law, Mari Hitt and Donna Wemes Slaughter (Tom), her niece Aileen Hitt Stuecker (Brian), their daughter Quinn, her nephew Spencer Hitt (Maggie) and their son Ford.
She was predeceased by her husband, James F. Wemes, and her brother, John B. Hitt, III.

A native of Louisville, she lived in Florida for twenty years and returned to Louisville seven years ago. She was an avid reader and loved musicals and classic movies.

A memorial service will be held at her church, St. Andrew United Church of Christ, 2608 Browns Lane, 40220 on May 31 at 4 p.m. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Expressions of sympathy may go to her Church or to Kosair Charities at PO 37370, Louisville, 40233.
