Sue Carol Gaines, age 65 of Smithfield, Ky., passed away Friday, July 13, 2012. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Margaret Quick Bryant; brother, Don Bryant; sister, Aletha Dunaway; granddaughter, Kelly Claypool; great-grandchild Brice Poindexter.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Bernie; children, Dennis Gaines (Kim), Margaret Gaines (Bruce), Lisa Johnson (Donnie), Shelly Gaines, Toby Gaines (Cindy); grandchildren, Steven, James, Michael, Amanda, Tremain, Thomas, Austin, Blake, Kelly, Marshall, Coby, Emily and Wake; great-grandchildren, Steven, Jr., Jessalyn, Jaylyn, Craft, Bryce and Kaylee; sisters, Rita Mitchell, Charlotte Newton, Jo Wathen, Judy Kurtz; mother-in-law, Iva Floyd.
Funeral ceremony will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive with visitation there 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, and after 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until time of service. Entombment will be in Louisville Memorial Gardens East.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics of Kentucky, P.O. Box 54691 Lexington, KY. 40555, in memory of Sue Gaines.
