Steven James Estilette, age 53, who passed away in Louisville, Kentucky on Friday, June 21, 2013, having the time of his life with family and friends.
Mr. Estilette was a native and resident of Cankton. He was the owner/operator of Gills Transmission Shop in Cankton for 23 years. One of his many pleasures in life was horseback riding. He was a parishioner of St. John Berchmans Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James "Bonney" Estilette and the former Edna Mier.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Dianna H. Estilette of Cankton; one daughter, Dana Trahan of Cankton, three brothers, Earl Estilette and his wife, Sandy, of Sunset, Keith Estilette and his wife, Phyllis, of Carencro, and L.J. Estilette of Breaux Bridge; two sisters, Debbie Lanerie and her husband, Gerald, of Sunset and Catherine Comeaux and her husband, Steven, of Lafayette; one godchild, Jaques Hebert; two nephews, Corey Lanerie and Brandon Estilette; three nieces, Kara Castille, Bethany Leger, and Blair Estilette; and one great niece and the light of his life, Brittlyn Lanerie.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro, LA. Interment will be in Evangeline Memorial Gardens in Carencro. The eulogy will be given by Keith Estilette. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Earl Estilette, Corey Lanerie, Gerald Lanerie, Russell Comeaux, Joe Albarado, and Robby Albarado. Honorary pallbearers will be "Bub" McGrew and Darryl Hebert.
