Steve Crone

Steve Crone, born on February 16, 1948, peacefully passed away at his home on February 8. He was the beloved son of Mary and Thad Crone and grew up among 12 siblings, fostering a deep connection to family throughout his life.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, his cherished wife Carolyn, and siblings Charlie, Eddie, Barbara Seper, Sonny, Patty Heath, and Kay Daily. He is survived by his daughters Cinnamon Jawor (Jack) and Candy Crone (Chris), his grandson Jakob Jawor, and siblings Nancy Swisher, Clara Mae Allen, David (Donnette), and Jon Michael (Becky).

Affectionately known for his "need to feed," Steve warmly welcomed everyone into his home, particularly for breakfast gatherings to savor his infamous biscuits & gravy.

His love for farming and gardening filled him with immense joy and purpose. A pillar of support and wisdom to countless friends and neighbors, Steve was lovingly referred to as "dad" by many. His most treasured roles were those of Dad and PeePop.

Steve's passing leaves an indelible void in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy of love will endure for generations to come. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 14, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, IN 47150 with burial to follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Memphis, Indiana.
