Steve Blakely

Steve Blakely, 63, of Mc Daniels, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2022. Steve was loving, thoughtful, handsome, great work ethic, funny, resilient, sincere, and a genuine man. He always enjoyed being the captain of his boat, laying on the beach, and enjoying his time at his lake front home. He was an avid UK fan who rarely missed a game and he enjoyed pranks and teasing his family. Steve will truly be missed by many people who's lives he touched.

He was born on June 10, 1959 in Louisville, Kentucky to Kenneth and Leah Ann (Carrico) Blakely. He is preceded in death by his Father, Kenneth Blakely, Late Wife, Janice Blakely, Brother-In-Law, Billy Sadler, and Mother-In-Law, Bonnie Heun.

Steve is survived by his loving Wife of 16 years, Berita J. Blakely; Mother, Leah Ann Blakely; Daughters, Shannon (Curt) Shepherd, Catrina (Matthew) Gagel, and Kayla (Will) Dufton; Step-Daughters, Stephanie Wafzig and Mallory Wafzig; Grandchildren, Colin Shepherd, Camryn (Tyler) Capito, Emily Shepherd, Trevor Schelling, Haylee Gagel, Noah Gagel, Brylee Dufton, Grant Dufton, and Griffin Wafzig; Siblings, Mike (Wei Wei) Blakely, Susan Sadler, and Troy (Debbi) Blakely; Brother-In-Law, Chuck (Ila) Dezarn; Father and Mother-In-Law, Luther (Donna) Dezarn, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends to cherish his loving memory forever.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 4:00 pm on Sunday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions in Steve's memory be made to Shirley's Way or St. Jude.
