Steve Allen Barnes

Steve Allen Barnes, 64, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Steve loved to travel and garden and worked for Walmart in New Albany for over 30 years. He was a lovable and outgoing man that many of his coworkers affectionately referred to as "Stevie-Bear."

He was born on March 13, 1954, in Corydon, Indiana, to the late Albert Lee and Dorothy (Reader) Barnes.

Steve is survived by his siblings, Arvil Barnes (Jane), Teresa Bolin (Randy), and Larry Barnes (Rebecca); and his nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. Cremation was chosen following Steve's wishes. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Memorial Contributions be made to the American Heart Association (7272 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75231) or the American Cancer Society (1640 Lyndon Farm Court, #104, Louisville, Kentucky 40223).
