Stephen Joseph Tavelli

Stephen Joseph Tavelli, 73, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022. He was a United States Navy veteran and member of American Legion Post 379. Steve retired as a mechanic for TARC in Louisville and was an avid motorcyclist.

He was born on August 10, 1949, in Venice, California, to Stephen B. and Mary (Silva) Tavelli. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his sister, Roberta Clark; brother, Daryl Tavelli; and brother-in-law, Mike Hardin.

Steve is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beverly (Hardin) Tavelli; children, Jamie Williamson (Eric) and Tyler Tavelli; grandsons, Brandon, Adam, and Keelan; and siblings, Celia Kelly and William Tavelli.

Steve's wish was to be cremated, and a reception of family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his memorial service taking place at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Boy Scouts of America - Lincoln Heritage Council or to Gentiva Hospice (391 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN 47130).
