Stephen W. Shaughnessy, Sr.

Stephen Wayne Shaughnessy, Sr., age 72 of Louisville, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021 after a brief illness. He was born on December 21, 1948 to the late Donald and Marilyn Grant Shaughnessy. Steve was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and an Army Vietnam Veteran. He retired from Louisville, Gas and Electric after 34 years of service. Steve enjoyed playing keyboards in local bands beginning at age 16, with his longest affiliation with The Tymes Band. In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by his siblings, Suzan Merrick, Patrick and John Shaughnessy.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Jeanette Merriam Shaughnessy; beloved sons, Stephen Shaughnessy, Jr. and Christopher Shaughnessy (Becky); grandsons, Michael, Jacob and Tyler; his brother, Kevin Shaughnessy (Karen); and a host of relatives and friends.

Steve chose cremation. There will be a private family memorial service.
The family wishes to thank the physicians and ICU team for their diligent and compassionate care he received at Norton Audubon Hospital.
